Its a chance for organisations to nominate a service user or volunteer whom they think will benefit from such a break.

The buildings where the successful people will be able to stay include Sackville house, alton station in staffordshire, the white house shropshire and various other castles, lodges, towers, forts, and cottages.

The Landmark Trust has rescued over 200 extraordinary historic buildings, now let for self-catering holidays to pay for their future maintenance. All are restful, inspiring and restorative places to stay. As a building preservation charity, it’s important that as wide a range of people as possible experience staying in such places. 50 for Free reaches out to those who might especially benefit from such an experience but might not otherwise be able to afford it.

50 for Free is simply about Landmark seeking to extend the benefit of staying in its buildings to those who need it most. The cost to Landmark is being specifically met by a generous private donor.
